The Most Promising (TMP) is a free, rigorous, year-long creative writing program for Northeast Ohio teens designed to cultivate confidence and self-expression and to increase literacy skills. In bi-weekly classes* starting in September 2026, students will explore different approaches to writing poetry and creative nonfiction, read and study work by select award-winning authors, learn about the publishing industry, and engage with current events and social issues through writing. Led by writer Ali Black, TMP seeks to build some of today’s most promising young writers. 

 

​Applications are open for the 2026-2027 program. The deadline to apply is July 6, 2026.
